The proposed changes to the bill SB 229 increase the number of at-large members on the Jacksonville State University Board of Trustees from two to four. Now, two of these members will reside within Alabama, while the other two can live outside the state. This adjustment is significant because it broadens the board's representation, potentially bringing in diverse perspectives and expertise from individuals with connections to the university, regardless of where they reside.
