The updated bill SB 100 creates a dedicated fund, called the Board of Medical Scholarship Awards Fund, within the State Treasury. This fund will continuously receive money from various sources, including loan repayments and donations, to provide scholarships and loans to medical students. This change matters because it ensures stable financial support for medical students, helping to alleviate the burden of educational costs and potentially increasing the number of healthcare professionals in the state.
