The changes to Bill SB 77 revise the structure of the Board of Trustees for the Department of Archives and History. Previously, the board had two members from each congressional district and two at-large members, but now it will consist of one representative from each congressional district alongside eight at-large members appointed by key state leaders. Additionally, instead of the board filling its own vacancies, the responsibility will now fall to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and other legislative leaders. These adjustments aim to streamline board appointments and ensure a more centralized approach to governance.
