Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill SB 62 now explicitly includes a wider range of items eligible for sales tax exemptions, such as baby bottles, baby wipes, and breast milk pumping equipment. This change matters because it provides financial relief to families by reducing the costs associated with essential baby and menstrual hygiene products. By clarifying and expanding the list of exempt items, the bill aims to support parents and caregivers in managing expenses related to child-rearing and personal health.
