What changed in the latest version
55 added · 34 removedPlain-language change summary
The updated version of Bill SB 48 clarifies that the detailed summary of instructional materials will now be provided to "any parent or guardian" instead of "any parent, custodian, or guardian." Additionally, it reinforces that the educational records related to student complaints cannot be released except under specific conditions that respect federal and state privacy laws. These changes aim to simplify language for broader understanding and to ensure better protection of student privacy, which is crucial for maintaining trust in the education system.
