The amendment to Bill HJR 29 has officially named the bridge on Alabama State Highway Route 55, which spans Pigeon Creek in Covington County, as the David Cook Memorial Bridge. The previous version of the bill did not include this specific naming and instead had a placeholder. This change is significant because it officially honors David Cook through a permanent tribute, ensuring that his legacy is recognized in the local community.
