Plain-language change summary

The bill HB 187 has been amended to extend the deadline for Alabama pass-through entities to opt for electing pass-through taxation. Previously, these entities had to make their election by the 15th day of the third month after the end of their tax year. Now, they can make this election as part of their annual tax return, allowing them more time to decide and file. This change matters because it gives businesses greater flexibility in managing their tax responsibilities.
