The latest version of HB 95 introduces a significant change by allowing virtual schools in Alabama to conduct state-required assessments via remote testing with video monitoring, starting in the 2025-2026 school year. Moreover, it specifies that these assessments must occur during designated times and under the supervision of designated personnel. This change is intended to maintain the integrity of the testing process while accommodating students who learn virtually. The bill also clarifies that public institutions of higher education are exempt from these new testing requirements, which helps to streamline the focus on K-12 education.
