The updated version of Bill HB 82 has expanded the definition of false reporting to include more activities that can qualify as this crime. It also specifies stricter penalties for cases where a false report suggests imminent danger to individuals or the public. Additionally, there is a new requirement for offenders to pay restitution in certain situations. These changes aim to deter false reports, which can waste resources and potentially endanger lives.
