What changed in the latest version

In the latest version of HB 53, the coroner of Franklin County will receive a fixed annual salary of $10,000 starting in the next term instead of the previous expense allowance of $9,700. This change simplifies the compensation structure by consolidating it into a single salary rather than multiple allowances, potentially making budgeting clearer for the county. This matters because it ensures that the coroner's compensation is consistent and fully accounted for, streamlining funding from the county's general fund.
