Plain-language change summary

The amendment to SB 628 changed the wording from "finds" to "verifies" regarding how the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) determines groundwater standard exceedances, which adds clarity about the verification process. Additionally, it specified that notification is only required once per exceedance rather than multiple times, which streamlines communication. The amendment also clarified which specific standards are applicable and made it mandatory for DNR to notify health departments rather than leaving it to their discretion. These updates enhance the effectiveness of monitoring groundwater quality and ensure that communities are promptly informed of potential health risks.
