Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Senate Bill 558 has made several important changes regarding disaster assistance grants. It clarifies that individuals seeking aid must provide receipts for disaster-related expenses and specifies the type of contractors allowed for home repairs, including those certified by the Department of Safety and Professional Services. Additionally, it now prohibits individuals from receiving grants if a business associated with their residence has already received funds for the same repairs. These changes aim to streamline the application process and prevent duplication of aid, ensuring that support is fairly distributed.
