The revised version of the bill clarifies that five applicants for cultivation center registration, who scored 150 points or more during their application, will now be eligible for a manufacturer license to produce medical cannabis. This change is significant because it addresses an urgent need to increase the availability of medical cannabis products in the District, especially since these applicants originally intended to manufacture cannabis as part of their business plans. By streamlining the licensing process, the bill aims to enhance access to these products for patients in need.
