The recent amendment to the Sexual Harassment Investigation Review Acts changes the requirement for the Inspector General to conduct investigations into sexual harassment allegations. Specifically, it mandates that the Inspector General hire an independent counsel for these investigations in Fiscal Year 2024, rather than Fiscal Year 2023, and requires them to submit their findings within 120 days of awarding the contract. This change is important because it establishes a clear timeline for the investigation process, helping to ensure accountability and transparency in handling sexual harassment cases moving forward.
