The recent amendment to the Migrant Services and Supports Temporary Amendment Act updated eligibility requirements and expanded the services the Office of Migrant Services can provide. Now, baby supplies, including formula, will be specifically included in the services available to newcomers, which is important for supporting families with young children. Additionally, the act clarifies that temporary shelters must prioritize families with minor children for non-congregate settings, ensuring a more supportive living environment for these families.
