The Minimum Wage Clarification Amendment Act of 2023 has made changes to the Minimum Wage Act to ensure that employers must pay the District's minimum wage for every hour worked whenever an employee puts in at least two hours of work in the District during the same week. This means that even if an employee works part-time or only a few hours, their wages must still meet the minimum wage standard if they hit that two-hour threshold. These adjustments aim to provide clearer guidelines for employers and better protections for workers, ensuring fair compensation for their time in the District.
