What changed in the latest version

The updated version of House File 560 increases the financial assurance requirements for waste tire collection and processing sites from 35 cents to $2.50 per passenger tire equivalent. This change is significant because it ensures that these sites have enough financial backing to cover environmental cleanup and management costs, enhancing the state's ability to handle waste tire disposal responsibly. By raising the required coverage amount, the legislation aims to prevent potential financial shortfalls that could arise from improper waste tire management.
