Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act or the federal National Flood Insurance Reform Act of 1994, the state may participate in the funding of the financial assistance authorized to a local government in an amount not to exceed LSB 5381SV (1) 88 -1- ec/rn 1/2 S.F.
2188 10 percent of the eligible expenses.
In addition, the bill provides that if financial assistance is granted for state-related hazard mitigation, the state may participate in the funding in an amount not to exceed 50 percent of the total eligible expenses.
The bill further provides that state participation in funding financial assistance to a local government is contingent upon the local government having a state-approved comprehensive emergency plan.
