2.
(a) There exists an immediate need to approve Contract No.
NFPHC-HL-23-C (“Contract”) between the Not-for-Profit Hospital Corporation (“Hospital”) and George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, Inc.
(“GW MFA”) to provide inpatient hospitalists services and to authorize payment for the services received and to be received under this Contract.
(b) To avoid a disruption in critical patient care services while the parties negotiated a new post-pandemic contract, the parties entered into a one month letter contract with a value of $538,075.58 for the period of October 1, 2022, to October 31, 2022.
(c) With negotiations successfully completed, the parties hereby submit the definitized version of the base year of the Contract in the amount of $6,018,096.73, with a retroactive period of October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023.
Council approval is necessary because the aggregate value of the Contract exceeds $1 million in a 12-month period.
(d) Without this approval, GW MFA cannot be paid for these critical services provided and to be provided in excess of $1 million.
Sec.
3.
The Council of the District of Columbia determines that the circumstances enumerated in section 2 constitute emergency circumstances making it necessary that the Contract No.
