This bill is no longer active — its legislative session has ended, so there is no live prognosis. It would have to be reintroduced in the current session to move again.
Summary
Existing law requires each insurer transacting insurance, as specified, to report specified data to the Insurance Commissioner, upon request of the commissioner, including the total number of insureds, the number of lawsuits filed against the insurer's insureds, and the number of claims reported to the insurer and reported closed. Existing law authorizes data and other information required to be filed or reported to be transmitted by electronic media or data transmission to the receiver's electronic data processing system. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that provision.
