Plain-language change summary

The amendments to S. 2599 include changes in language regarding federal land encumbrances. The term "overloaded" was replaced with "encumbered," providing a more precise description of the condition of the federal land. Additionally, the section on the applicable statute of limitations was clarified to state that it "prohibits," which may refine the legal context regarding the reacquisition of land by the Tribe. These changes help to clarify the bill's intent and the legal framework surrounding land reacquisition.
