The revised bill clarifies that the Surface Transportation Board (STB) must develop a timeline and plan to implement specific recommendations from the Inspector General of the Department of Transportation. It includes requirements for the STB to appoint an individual to oversee the implementation of the plan. This change matters because it establishes accountability for the execution of the recommendations, potentially improving the security measures within the STB.
