The amendment changes the provisions related to the proceeds from the conveyance of land. It removes the section on environmental compliance and instead specifies that any proceeds received by the Secretary from the conveyance under subsection (a) will be deposited in the fund established under Public Law 90-171 and can be used for acquiring inholdings in units of the National Forest System in South Dakota. This matters because it clarifies how proceeds from the conveyance can be utilized, directing them specifically toward forest land acquisitions rather than general administrative expenses.
