The changes in the bill S 945 include the addition of a requirement for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to identify a "covered issuer" with respect to all reports filed during the year after the enactment of a specific subsection. This means that the SEC will have to provide clarity on which companies are subject to its oversight based on their reporting compliance, which can impact regulatory transparency and accountability for these issuers. The language around the timing of the SEC's identification has also been clarified, ensuring it specifically pertains to the year following enactment.
