Plain-language change summary

The amendment to the bill removes specific requirements for the special resource study of Medgar Evers' home, including the need to consult with governmental and nonprofit organizations, assess the effects of designation on current land use, and identify legal authorities related to local land decisions. The focus now is on a more streamlined evaluation of the site's national significance and feasibility for National Park System designation. This change may simplify the study process by narrowing its scope and reducing the number of consultations and evaluations that need to be conducted.
