The amendment removed the short title of the bill, "Ruby Mountains Protection Act," and also deleted the provision that stated the prohibition on oil and gas leasing would apply to any land or interest in land acquired by the United States after the date of enactment of the Act. This means that the focus now remains solely on the existing District land, without extending the prohibition to any future acquisitions in the Ruby Mountains Ranger District. The change refines the scope of the bill regarding oil and gas leasing on specific lands.
