The amended version of the bill clarifies that land for the Fort Scott National Historic Site can be obtained through purchase from willing sellers using donated or appropriated funds, or by exchange. It also specifies that the land to be added to the site is in Kansas and refers to a particular map detailing the proposed boundary modification. This change matters because it outlines the methods for acquiring land and clearly identifies the geographic scope of the proposed modifications, ensuring transparency in the land acquisition process.
