The amendment to S 1189 changes the federal share of the cost for projects or programs funded by grants from a maximum of 90 percent to 95 percent. It also updates the funding period from fiscal years 2023 through 2027 to fiscal years 2025 through 2029. This means eligible entities can receive a higher portion of funding for their projects, which may impact how they budget and plan their initiatives.
