The amendment to S 932 clarifies that pension payments for Members of Congress who are sentenced for certain offenses will be halted only for those payments based on their service as Members, regardless of when that service occurred. This matters because it specifies the conditions under which pension payments will cease, ensuring that the amendment targets those who have been convicted while setting clear parameters for application.
