In the updated version of Senate Bill 464, the age limit for a person to be considered guilty of taking indecent liberties has been raised from 16 years to 18 years. This change is significant because it means that individuals under 18 years old will have stronger protections against such offenses, reflecting a shift in how society views the maturity and consent of youth. By making this adjustment, the law aims to reinforce the importance of safeguarding minors from inappropriate behavior.
