Plain-language change summary

The changes to Senate Bill 697 primarily involve the removal of specific references to various studies and monitoring results regarding offshore wind power projects. This bill is focused on the permitting process for wind energy facilities in North Carolina's coastal waters. By removing those specific references, the bill appears to streamline its language, but it could reduce the emphasis on the need for careful assessment regarding the impact of these projects on local resources and communities. Understanding these implications is crucial as the state navigates its energy strategies while balancing environmental concerns.
