Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Senate Bill 294 involve the addition of a line concerning Medicaid rate payments for obstetrics and maternal bundle payments related to pregnancy care. This change specifies that a rate increase will support these provider payments, which is important because it may enhance care for pregnant individuals by ensuring that providers receive adequate compensation for their services. Additionally, the timeline for reporting to the Committee on Medicaid and NC Health Choice has been clarified to March 1, 2024, helping to establish clear expectations for when details will be provided.
