The recent amendment to House Bill 75 updates the requirements for physician assistants practicing in team-based settings. It now specifies that, to qualify for this practice model, a physician assistant must have over 4,000 hours of clinical experience, including more than 1,000 hours in a specific medical specialty. This change is significant as it aims to ensure that physician assistants working in collaborative teams have extensive experience, which may enhance patient care and safety.
