In the latest version of Senate Bill 573, specific references to roles in the education system have been clarified. For example, it specifies that the school finance officer is appointed by the superintendent and serves at their discretion, which emphasizes the superintendent's authority over financial matters. This change is important because it clearly outlines the chain of responsibility and decision-making in school finance, ensuring that leadership and accountability are well-defined within local school boards.
