Plain-language change summary

In the latest version of Senate Bill 658, a section regarding funding for PFAS research used by local fire departments has been removed. This change could impact the support and resources available for addressing concerns related to these chemicals, which have been linked to environmental and health issues. Additionally, specific details about how the funding could be used in relation to firefighting training have also been taken out, potentially limiting the development of new facilities or technologies in this area. Overall, these adjustments might affect how effectively local fire departments can prepare for and respond to PFAS-related challenges.
