The recent change to House Bill 348 specifically clarifies that the funding provided will be used to increase the number of full-time school nurses in public schools, ensuring that there is at least one nurse in every school. This matters because it highlights the commitment to improving health resources for students, which can lead to better health outcomes and a safer school environment. The bill also ensures that the new funds will add to, rather than replace, existing funding for school nurses.
