In the latest version of HB 1069, there's a slight change in the wording regarding how voter registration records are maintained. The bill now clearly states that each county board of elections shall remove individuals from its voter registration records, emphasizing the responsibility of these local boards. This matters because it reinforces the process of maintaining accurate voter lists, ensuring that registered voters are up-to-date and eligible, which is crucial for fair elections.
