Plain-language change summary

In the latest version of Senate Bill 417, some wording was amended to clarify the late fee process for members who do not pay their dues on time. The provision now specifies that the late fee cannot exceed a certain amount, ensuring members know the maximum penalty they might face. This change is significant because it aims to enhance transparency and fairness for those in the North Carolina State Bar by standardizing the late fee policy.
