The recent changes to Senate Bill 680 involve clarifications about the processes remote online notaries must follow. Specifically, the language now specifies requirements for notaries regarding identity verification and their responsibilities when conducting notarial acts online. This matters because it helps ensure that the integrity of remote online notarization is maintained, which is crucial for legal documents being executed safely and securely, especially in a digital landscape.
