What changed in the latest version

The revised version of Senate Bill 568 now includes a requirement for the Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) office to study whether the existing "good faith efforts" standards in awarding state contracts should be made easier or expanded. Additionally, HUB is tasked with reporting its findings by February 15, 2022. This change is significant as it aims to address potential disparities in how local contracts are awarded, particularly to minority-owned businesses, which could lead to more equitable opportunities in state contracting processes.
