The revised version of HB 934 introduces certain changes to the funding structure for grants aimed at eligible children in North Carolina public schools. Notably, it now specifies that grant funds are available for "summer enrichment programs" and "academic and enrichment programs designed to serve students before or after normal school hours." Additionally, the removal of tutoring services provided by licensed educators from the list of allowable expenditures means that families cannot use the grants for tutoring. These adjustments could limit what families can use the funds for, impacting the support available for their children's education.
