Local Government, if favorable, Rules, Calendar, and Operations of the House March 8, 2021 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT TO EXTEND THE TERM OF MAYOR FROM TWO TO FOUR YEARS IN THE TOWN OF CAROLINA SHORES.
The qualified voters of the entire Town elect theMayorTheodora Altreutershall serveas Mayorto serveuntil theorganizational meeting after the 1999 municipal election.
The qualified voters of the entire Town elect the Mayor.
A Mayor shall be elected in 1999 and biennially thereafter for a two-year term.to serve a four-year term." SECTION 2.
Theodora Altreuter shall serve as Mayor to serve until the organizational meeting after the 1999 municipal election.
The Brunswick County Board of Elections shall reopen the filing periodfortheofficeofMayorfortheTownofCarolinaShoresforaperiodtorunfromSeptember 7, 2021, to September 10, 2021.
A Mayor shall be elected in 1999 and biennially thereafter for a two-year term.In 2021, and quadrennially thereafter, a Mayor shall be elected to serve a four-year term." SECTION 2.

This act is effective when it becomes law.
This act is effective when it becomes law, and municipal elections in 2021 and thereafter shall be held accordingly.
