The bill has been revised to remove the short title and to change the process for the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a special resource study of Fort Ontario in Oswego, New York. The new version specifies the contents of the study, including evaluating the national significance of the site and determining its suitability for designation as part of the National Park System. This change matters because it outlines the specific factors the Secretary must consider, which could impact future decisions on preserving and managing the site.
