The recent amendment to Bill SB 140 removed a section that required the state Department of Labor and Industry to ensure there was enough funding before enforcing the bill. This means the bill is now set to take effect in 60 days without the need for a funding requirement to kick in first. This change matters because it allows the new regulations to be implemented more quickly, ensuring that the intended protections or benefits can start taking effect sooner without potential delays caused by funding issues.
