Plain-language change summary

The amendments made to HB 1677 include the establishment of the Tax-exempt Property Municipal Assistance Fund and outline the roles of the Department of Community and Economic Development in managing this fund. The bill defines eligible municipalities as those imposing a real property tax, indicating a focus on providing financial assistance to local governments. These changes are significant because they aim to support municipalities that may be affected by property tax exemptions, thereby ensuring they have the necessary resources to continue operating effectively.
