Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill HR 147 has shifted its focus from a broader range of potential uses for unused properties to specifically emphasizing the importance of these properties for addiction treatment and recovery services. It now specifies the need to include programs like recovery schools and community centers, particularly near colleges, reflecting a targeted approach to address substance use issues. By concentrating on these particular services, this amendment aims to provide much-needed support to individuals in recovery, ultimately creating a more supportive environment for those affected by substance use disorders.
