Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill HB 847 clarifies and strengthens rules regarding the use of public assistance funds. Specifically, it reaffirms that individuals cannot use these funds to purchase alcohol, tobacco, or engage in transactions at adult-oriented entertainment venues. Additionally, it emphasizes the responsibility of gaming entities and liquor establishments to prevent such misuse. This change matters because it aims to ensure that public assistance benefits are used for essential needs rather than for entertainment or vice-related purchases.
