Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Bill HB 356 specify the process for charter schools to purchase or lease unused public school buildings. The updated text clarifies that school entities must accept offers from charter schools that meet certain pricing criteria, including the option for a price below fair market value if both parties agree. Additionally, the bill now requires school entities to publicly post their available properties online, ensuring transparency and accessibility for charter schools seeking facilities. This matters because it aims to streamline the process for charter schools to acquire necessary buildings while promoting fair dealings and public awareness.
