Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Bill SB 48 clarify the composition of the commission overseeing voting systems. Specifically, one member appointed by the Governor must now be a county election officer, enhancing local expertise in election matters. Additionally, the Secretary of State's role has been modified to allow for a designee from the Commonwealth, which could improve flexibility in decision-making. These amendments aim to strengthen the oversight and efficiency of election processes, making them more responsive to local needs.
