The amendment to Bill SB 850 clarifies that "engaged student support services" include both services provided by school staff and those offered through community partners. Additionally, it specifies that these services should not replace those already provided under existing labor agreements. This change is significant because it ensures that students receive comprehensive support without compromising existing educational staffing and services, thereby enhancing opportunities for academic success.
